NYC Maker Faire 2016

The NYC Mini 4wd Club was honored to get an exhibition space at MakerFaire 2016, at the NY Hall of Science!  Setup night was rainy and worrisome- but the rain held back all weekend, and we had plenty of racing action in the track.

Young folks got to race a number of pre-built stock cars, and a some regular NYC racers showed up for some informal fast modified racing.  The kids (and big kids) got lessions in basic physics, engineering, materials- and we got to explain what makes cars fast!  Next time we hit Maker Faire, I hope to have car kits to sell, so kids can get the full experience of building their own car to race…

I can’t thank the MakerFaire staff enough for all their help and support- they are a truly amazing organization.  Also, thanks for the Blue Ribbon!
